Teams in CPQ
Teams provide a shared sales workspace: group the people who work together, assign the group to a quote, and use team membership to focus quote and order lists.
1. Define the team
Create an active team with a name and description, then add the users who should collaborate in it. A user may belong to more than one team.
2. Assign the quote
Choose an optional team when creating a sales quote, or update the team from the quote detail page. The selected team and its members are visible on the quote.
3. Work as a group
Use team filters and the Team view on the home dashboard to concentrate on the quotes and sales orders relevant to the group.
Where teams appear in CPQ
| Area | How teams are used |
|---|---|
| Company — Teams | Create, edit, activate or deactivate teams, and manage their members. |
| New Sales Quote | Optionally assign an active team as the quote is created. |
| Sales Quotes | Filter the quote list by the work created by the team's members. Selecting a team clears the creator filters so the team's work is in focus. |
| Quote Hierarchy | Use the same team filter while reviewing quote relationships. |
| Sales Orders | Filter the order list and order hierarchy by work created by team members. |
| Home dashboard | Switch the Sales Quotes and Sales Orders cards between My, Team, and Global recent work. |
A practical workflow
- Create a team such as West Region Sales or Industrial Products.
- Add the salespeople and supporting users who work in that group.
- Assign the team to a new or existing quote.
- Use the Team filters to review the group's quote and order workload.
- On the home dashboard, choose Team to see the group's recent sales activity.
Teams are scoped to the current Velosity instance. Deactivated teams remain available on existing records but are not offered when creating a new quote.
